The Gombe State Primary Healthcare Development Agency through its program Nigeria State Health Investment Project sponsors its some staff of the Agency/Ministry of Health to visit Rwanda on a study tour. The team which was led by the Executive Secretary
Dr.Ahmed Mohammed Gana where in Rwanda to study the Performance Based Financing approach to improving health system performance and Community Based Health Insurance.
The Nigeria State Health Investment Project, NSHIP is a World Bank assisted project of which Gombe state is one of the beneficiaries in the Additional Financing. NSHIP seeks to improve the quantity and quality of healthcare service delivery through the use of high impact maternal and childcare interventions using the PBF approach.
The tour to Rwanda is aimed at enabling the Agency to build a strong knowledge base on how to improve on the projects approach to healthcare system in the State. Rwanda has over the years achieved tremendous transformation in all its sectors of Government through the Performance Based Financing approach, which made the country a perfect spot to gain a robust knowledge on the approach.
